Specificity
This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Frequenin (recombinant) coupled to agarose beads. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum. This affinity purified polyclonal antibody reacts with frequenin from most mammalian sources. Frequenin is a Ca2+ binding protein implicated in the regulation of neurotransmitter release at the neuromuscular junction. Frequenin amino acid sequences from different species appear closely related. In mouse a single 4.2 kbp mRNA is produced yielding a protein of 22kDa when assayed by SDSPAGE under reducing conditions. Frequenin may colocalize with the dendritic marker MAP-2 and is widely distributed in the brain, spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia. Reactivity with avian and invertebrate frequenin is likely. In Drosophila frequenin is related to recoverin and visinin and functions like Ca2+-sensitive guanylyl cyclase activator.

Product Notes

The Frequenin (Catalog #AAA4158598) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Frequenin Antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Frequenin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for ELISA, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, conjugation and most immunological methods requiring lot-to-lot consistency, high titer and specificity. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Frequenin for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Frequenin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
