Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Serpin A3N. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for Serpin A3N and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Serpin A3N, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of Serpin A3N in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

secreted acidic glycoprotein that may act as a serine protease inhibitor; expression is transiently induced during inflammation [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

SERPINA3: Although its physiological function is unclear, it can inhibit neutrophil cathepsin G and mast cell chymase, both of which can convert angiotensin-1 to the active angiotensin-2. Belongs to the serpin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Cellular Component: extracellular region; extracellular space

Molecular Function: serine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity

Product Notes

The Rat Serpina3n serpina3n (Catalog #AAA288407) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA288407 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Serpina3n. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Serine protease inhibitor A3N, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
