Human Sarcosine dehydrogenase, mitochondrial ELISA Kit | SARDH elisa kit
Human Sarcosine dehydrogenase, mitochondrial ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to SarDH. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for SarDH and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain SarDH, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of SarDH in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an enzyme localized to the mitochondrial matrix which catalyzes the oxidative demethylation of sarcosine. This enzyme is distinct from another mitochondrial matrix enzyme, dimethylglycine dehydrogenase, which catalyzes a reaction resulting in the formation of sarcosine. Mutations in this gene are associated with sarcosinemia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
Uniprot Description
SARDH: Defects in SARDH are a cause of sarcosinemia (SAR). Sarcosinemia is a metabolic disorder characterized by an increased concentration of sarcosine in plasma and urine due to sarcosine dehydrogenase deficiency. Prevalence has been estimated at 1:28'000 to 1:350'000 in newborn screening programs. Sarcosinemia is most probably a benign condition without significant clinical problems. It is transmitted in an autosomal recessive manner. Belongs to the GcvT family.

Product Notes
The Human SARDH sardh (Catalog #AAA2882590) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2882590 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SARDH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sarcosine dehydrogenase, mitochondrial, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
