NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a hyperpolarization-activated cation channel involved in the generation of native pacemaker activity in the heart and in the brain. The encoded protein is activated by cAMP and can produce a fast, large current. Defects in this gene were noted as a possible cause of some forms of epilepsy. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Uniprot Description
HCN2: Hyperpolarization-activated ion channel exhibiting weak selectivity for potassium over sodium ions. Contributes to the native pacemaker currents in heart (If) and in neurons (Ih). Produces a large instantaneous current. Activated by cAMP. Modulated by intracellular chloride ions and pH; acidic pH shifts the activation to more negative voltages. Belongs to the potassium channel HCN family.

Product Notes
The Human HCN2 hcn2 (Catalog #AAA283560) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA283560 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HCN2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Potassium/sodium hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
