Intra-Assay: CV<10%
Inter-Assay: CV<12%
Test Principle
The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 (BMP4). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 (BMP4). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 (BMP4) level in the sample or standard.
Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. This protein regulates heart development and adipogenesis. Homozygous knockout mice die in utero, while a conditional knockout mouse exhibits defects in heart development. Transgenic mice overexpressing this gene in a neuron-specific manner exhibit a phenotype resembling the rare hereditary connective tissue disease, fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. Uniprot Description

BMP4: Induces cartilage and bone formation. Also act in mesoderm induction, tooth development, limb formation and fracture repair. Acts in concert with PTHLH/PTHRP to stimulate ductal outgrowth during embryonic mammary development and to inhibit hair follicle induction. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Interacts with GREM2. Part of a complex consisting of TWSG1 and CHRD. Interacts with the serine proteases, HTRA1 and HTRA3; the interaction with either inhibits BMP4-mediated signaling. The HTRA protease activity is required for this inhibition. Interacts with SOSTDC1. Expressed in the lung and lower levels seen in the kidney. Present also in normal and neoplastic prostate tissues, and prostate cancer cell lines. Belongs to the TGF-beta family.

Product Notes

The Mouse BMP4 bmp4 (Catalog #AAA2708464) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2708464 CLIA Kit recognizes Mouse BMP4. AAA Biotech's Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 (BMP4) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BMP4 bmp4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 (BMP4), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
