Related Product Information for B3GNT1 recombinant protein
N-Acetyllactosaminide beta-1, 3-N-Acetylglucosaminyltransferase (B3GNT1) is a member of the beta-1, 3-N-Acetylglucosaminyltransferase family. B3GNT1 is a single-pass type II membrane protein and widely expressed in many tissues. B3GNT1 can initiate the synthesis or the elongation of the linear poly-N-acetyllactosaminoglycans. B3GNT1 is essential for the synthesis of poly-N-acetyllactosamine, a determinant for the blood group i antigen. It can initiate the synthesis or the elongation of the linear poly-N-acetyllactosaminoglycans.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase family. This enzyme is a type II transmembrane protein. It is essential for the synthesis of poly-N-acetyllactosamine, a determinant for the blood group i antigen. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Beta-1,4-glucuronyltransferase involved in O-mannosylation of alpha-dystroglycan (DAG1). Transfers a glucuronic acid (GlcA) residue onto a xylose (Xyl) acceptor to produce the glucuronyl-beta-1,4-xylose-beta disaccharide primer, which is further elongated by LARGE1, during synthesis of phosphorylated O-mannosyl glycan (PubMed:25279699, PubMed:25279697). Phosphorylated O-mannosyl glycan is a carbohydrate is a carbohydrate structure present in alpha-dystroglycan (DAG1), which is required for binding laminin G-like domain-containing extracellular proteins with high affinity (PubMed:25279699, PubMed:25279697). Required for axon guidance; via its function in O-mannosylation of alpha-dystroglycan (DAG1) ().

Product Notes

The B3GNT1 b4gat1 (Catalog #AAA2552383) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Asp43-Cys415. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "B3GNT1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
