Related Product Information for GDN elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of HumanGDNconcentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GDN. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for GDNand Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain GDN, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of GDN.You can calculate the concentration of GDNin the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the serpin family of proteins, a group of proteins that inhibit serine proteases. Thrombin, urokinase, plasmin and trypsin are among the proteases that this family member can inhibit. This gene is a susceptibility gene for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and for emphysema. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Uniprot Description

SERPINE2: Serine protease inhibitor with activity toward thrombin, trypsin, and urokinase. Promotes neurite extension by inhibiting thrombin. Binds heparin. Belongs to the serpin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human GDN serpine2 (Catalog #AAA2515745) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2515745 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GDN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GDN, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
