Related Product Information for ERalpha elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Guinea pig ERalpha concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to ERalpha. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for ERalpha and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain ERalpha, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of ERalpha. You can calculate the concentration of ERalpha in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an estrogen receptor, a member of the nuclear hormone family of intracellular receptors. The encoded protein, activated by the sex hormone estrogen, is a transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription. Estrogen and its receptors are essential for sexual development and reproductive function, but also play a role in other tissues such as bone. Similar genes in human have been implicated in pathological processes including breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and osteoporosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description

ER-alpha: a nuclear hormone receptor and transcription factor. Regulates gene expression and affects cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues. Two splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Guinea Pig ERalpha esr1 (Catalog #AAA2513243) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2513243 ELISA Kit recognizes Guinea Pig ERalpha. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ERalpha, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
