Intended Uses: This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse estrogen receptor,ER concentrations in serum, Plasma, Urine, tissue homogenates and Cell culture supernates and Other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to ER. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for ER and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain ER, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of ER in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an estrogen receptor, a member of the nuclear hormone family of intracellular receptors. The encoded protein, activated by the sex hormone estrogen, is a transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription. Estrogen and its receptors are essential for sexual development and reproductive function, but also play a role in other tissues such as bone. Similar genes in human have been implicated in pathological processes including breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and osteoporosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description

ER-alpha: a nuclear hormone receptor and transcription factor. Regulates gene expression and affects cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues. Two splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Mouse Esr1 esr1 (Catalog #AAA2885232) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2885232 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse Esr1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Estrogen receptor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
