NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the synaptic cell adhesion molecule 1 (SynCAM) family which belongs to the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. The encoded protein has three Ig-like domains and a cytosolic protein 4.1 binding site near the C-terminus. Proteins belonging to the protein 4.1 family crosslink spectrin and interact with other cytoskeletal proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]
Uniprot Description
CADM2: Adhesion molecule that engages in homo- and heterophilic interactions with the other nectin-like family members, leading to cell aggregation. Important for synapse organization, providing regulated trans-synaptic adhesion. Preferentially binds to oligodendrocytes. Belongs to the nectin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p12.1
Cellular Component: axon; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; synapse; cell junction
Biological Process: intercellular junction assembly and maintenance; brain development; cell adhesion

The CADM2 cadm2 (Catalog #AAA243218) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human CADM2 reacts with Bat, Gibbon, Bovine, Chimpanzee, Dog, Gorilla, Hamster, Horse, Human, Monkey, Mouse, Orangutan, Pig, Rabbit, Rat Predicted Reactivity: Chicken (at least 90% immunogen sequence identity) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CADM2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin). IHC-P (10 ug/ml) Usage: Antigen retrieval with HIER and sodium citrate at pH 6.0 is required for Immunohistochemistry using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human tissues. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CADM2 cadm2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CADM2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
