ID4 Antibody, BHLHb27 Antibody, IDB4 Antibody, Inhibitor of DNA binding 4 Antibody Description: Transcriptional regulator (lacking a basic DNA binding domain) which negatively regulates the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors by forming heterodimers and inhibiting their DNA binding and transcriptional activity. Implicated in regulating a variety of cellular processes, including cellular growth, senescence, differentiation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, and neoplastic transformation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the inhibitor of DNA binding (ID) protein family. These proteins are basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors which can act as tumor suppressors but lack DNA binding activity. Consequently, the activity of the encoded protein depends on the protein binding partner. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

ID4: ID (inhibitor of DNA binding) HLH proteins lack a basic DNA-binding domain but are able to form heterodimers with other HLH proteins, thereby inhibiting DNA binding.

Protein type: Transcription, coactivator/corepressor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p22.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein dimerization activity; transcription corepressor activity

Biological Process: cerebral cortex neuron differentiation; circadian rhythm; fat cell differentiation; G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle; hippocampus development; myelination in the central nervous system; negative regulation of astrocyte differentiation; negative regulation of fat cell differentiation; negative regulation of neuron differentiation; negative regulation of oligodendrocyte differentiation; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; neuroblast proliferation; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of osteoblast differentiation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The ID4 id4 (Catalog #AAA2400314) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ID4 Antibody (aa1-50) IHC-plus reacts with Mouse, Rat, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ID4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:20000) IHC-P (10 ug/ml) WB (1:500 - 1:1000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ID4 id4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ID4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
