Related Product Information for IFNG recombinant protein
Recombinant Bovine interferon gamma, (IFN gamma ), known previously as macrophage activating factor, belongs to the type II interferon family and is produced by T lymphocytes and NK cells. Native bovine interferon gamma is a 143 amino acid cytokine with potent activating, anti-viral and anti-proliferative properties. It is produced as a pro-peptide with an additional 23 amino acid N-terminal signal peptide sequence having a molecular weight of ~20 kDa. IFN gamma is predominantly secreted by activated T lymphocytes in response to specific mitogens as a result of infection and has numerous immunological regulatory functions. Properties include macrophage activation, upregulation of MHC class I and II molecules on various cells and induction of cytotoxicity.

Uniprot Description

Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons.

Product Notes

The IFNG ifng (Catalog #AAA232521) is a Recombinant Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's IFN GAMMA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN). ELISA: This reagent has been used as a standard in a sandwich ELISA assay in conjunction with clone CC330 and clone CC302. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFNG ifng for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IFN GAMMA, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
