NCBI Description
This gene encodes a guanosine triphosphate (GTP)-metabolizing protein that contains a phorbol-ester/diacylglycerol (DAG)-type zinc finger, a Rho-GAP domain, and an SH2 domain. The encoded protein translocates from the cytosol to the Golgi apparatus membrane upon binding by diacylglycerol (DAG). Activity of this protein is important in cell proliferation and migration, and expression changes in this gene have been detected in cancers. A mutation in this gene has also been associated with schizophrenia in men. Alternative transcript splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description
ARHGAP3: GTPase-activating protein for p21-rac. Insufficient expression of beta-2 chimaerin is expected to lead to higher Rac activity and could therefore play a role in the progression from low-grade to high-grade tumors. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: GAPs; GAPs, Rac/Rho
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p14.3
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol
Molecular Function: GTPase activator activity; protein binding; SH3/SH2 adaptor activity
Biological Process: regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction
Product Notes
The CHN2 chn2 (Catalog #
AAA2065591) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The APC-Linked Polyclonal Antibody to Chimerin 2 (CHN2) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Chimerin 2 (CHN2) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (ELISA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHN2 chn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Chimerin 2 (CHN2), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
