Related Product Information for CNN2 recombinant protein
CNN2 protein, which can bind actin, calmodulin, troponin C, and tropomyosin, may function in the structural organization of actin filaments. This protein could play a role in smooth muscle contraction and cell adhesion. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Recombinant human CNN2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene, which can bind actin, calmodulin, troponin C, and tropomyosin, may function in the structural organization of actin filaments. The encoded protein could play a role in smooth muscle contraction and cell adhesion. Several pseudogenes of this gene have been identified, and are present on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 21 and 22. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]

Uniprot Description

Thin filament-associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. The interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity.

Product Notes

The CNN2 cnn2 (Catalog #AAA205516) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's CNN2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CNN2 cnn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMSSTQFN KGPSYGLSAE VKNRLLSKYD PQKEAELRTW IEGLTGLSIG PDFQKGLKDG TILCTLMNKL QPGSVPKINR SMQNWHQLEN LSNFIKAMVS YGMNPVDLFE ANDLFESGNM TQVQVSLLAL AGKA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CNN2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
