Related Product Information for anti-CD164 antibody
CD164, also known as endolyn, is a type I transmembrane protein with heavily glycosylated extracellular part containing sialic acid and glycosaminoglycan residues. CD164 plays both adhesive and antiadhesive role and serves as a potent negative regulator for CD34+ CD38- hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. It has also been reported to be involved in myogenic differentiation and cancer metastasis. The adhesive and negative regulatory functions seem to depend on different posttranslational modifications of CD164 protein.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a transmembrane sialomucin and cell adhesion molecule that regulates the proliferation, adhesion and migration of hematopoietic progenitor cells. The encoded protein also interacts with the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 and may regulate muscle development. Elevated expression of this gene has been observed in human patients with Sezary syndrome, a type of blood cancer, and a mutation in this gene may be associated with impaired hearing. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]

Uniprot Description

Sialomucin that may play a key role in hematopoiesis by facilitating the adhesion of CD34+ cells to the stroma and by negatively regulating CD34+CD38(lo/-) cell proliferation. Modulates the migration of umbilical cord blood CD133+ cells and this is mediated through the CXCL12/CXCR4 axis. May play an important role in prostate cancer metastasis and the infiltration of bone marrow by cancer cells. Promotes myogenesis by enhancing CXCR4-dependent cell motility. Positively regulates myoblast migration and promotes myoblast fusion into myotubes ().

Product Notes

The CD164 cd164 (Catalog #AAA1800270) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Hu CD164 PE reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD164 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC/FACS: QC tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD164 cd164 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD164, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
