Related Product Information for anti-ORC5 antibody
Origin recognition complex subunit 5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ORC5 (ORC5L) gene. The origin recognition complex (ORC) is a highly conserved six subunit protein complex essential for the initiation of the DNA replication in eukaryotic cells. Studies in yeast demonstrated that ORC binds specifically to origins of replication and serves as a platform for the assembly of additional initiation factors such as Cdc6 and Mcm proteins. The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the ORC complex. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.

NCBI Description

The origin recognition complex (ORC) is a highly conserved six subunit protein complex essential for the initiation of the DNA replication in eukaryotic cells. Studies in yeast demonstrated that ORC binds specifically to origins of replication and serves as a platform for the assembly of additional initiation factors such as Cdc6 and Mcm proteins. Uniprot Description

ORC5L: Component of the origin recognition complex (ORC) that binds origins of replication. DNA-binding is ATP-dependent, however specific DNA sequences that define origins of replication have not been identified so far. ORC is required to assemble the pre-replication complex necessary to initiate DNA replication. Belongs to the ORC5 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q22.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nuclear origin of replication recognition complex; nucleus; origin recognition complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; nucleotide binding; DNA replication origin binding; ATP binding

Biological Process: DNA replication initiation; mitotic cell cycle; DNA replication; G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle

Product Notes

The ORC5 orc5 (Catalog #AAA1753607) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ORC5L/ORC5 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ORC5L/ORC5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS/FCM). WB: 0.1-0.25ug/ml|Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey| ICC/IF: 5ug/ml|Human| FC/FACS/FCM: 1-3ug/1x106 cells|Human|. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ORC5 orc5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ORC5L/ORC5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
