Background: Insulin receptor substrate 1(IRS-1) is a signalling adapter protein that in humans is encoded by the IRS-1 gene. It is mapped to 2q36.3. This gene exhibited no intrinsic enzyme activity, and it can serve as a docking protein involved in binding and activating other signal transduction molecules after being phosphorylated on tyrosine by insulin receptor kinase. IRS1 plays a key role in transmitting signals from the insulin and insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) receptors to intracellular pathways PI3K/Akt and Erk MAP kinase pathways. IRS1 also has important biological function for both metabolic and mitogenic(growth promoting) pathways. In addition to those, IRS1 is a key regulator of PI3K within malignant cells.

Uniprot Description
IRS1: an adaptor protein that is one of the major substrates of the insulin receptor kinase. Contains multiple tyrosine phosphorylation motifs that serve as docking sites for SH2-domain-containing proteins including phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase p85 subunit and GRB-2. Phosphorylated on ser/thr residues by kinases including JNK and IKK.

Product Notes
The IRS1 irs1 (Catalog #AAA1753196) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Human IRS1 DyLight 488 Conjugated Antibody (Monoclonal, 10I3) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IRS1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC/FACS: 1-3ug/1x106 cells (Human). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IRS1 irs1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IRS1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
