Related Product Information for anti-GDF15 antibody
Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) is a protein belonging to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily that has a role in regulating inflammatory and apoptotic pathways in injured tissues and during disease processes.[1] GDF15 is also known as TGF-PL, MIC-1, PDF, PLAB, and PTGFB.[2] GDF15 mRNA is most abundant in the liver, with lower levels seen in some other tissues. Its expression in liver can be significantly up-regulated in during injury of organs such as liver, kidney, heart and lung.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) family. The protein is expressed in a broad range of cell types, acts as a pleiotropic cytokine and is involved in the stress reponse program of cells after cellular injury. Increased protein levels are associated with disease states such as tissue hypoxia, inflammation, acute injury and oxidative stress. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Product Notes

The GDF15 gdf15 (Catalog #AAA1492929) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti- Human Growth/differentiation factor 15(GDF15) monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human. Other species are not tested. Please decide the specificity by homology and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Growth/differentiation factor 15 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GDF15 gdf15 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Growth/differentiation factor 15, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
