Related Product Information for anti-PPP3CA antibody
PPP3CA (aka Calcineurin A) is a major soluble calmodulin binding protein in the brain and a Ca2+/calmodulin dependent serine/threonine protein phosphatase, with a relatively limited substrate specificity. PPP3CA activates the T cells of the immune system and can be blocked by drugs. PPP3CA activates NFATc (a transcription factor) by dephosphorylating it. The activated NFATc is subsequently translocated into the nucleus, where it upregulates the expression of interleukin 2.

Uniprot Description

Calcium-dependent, calmodulin-stimulated protein phosphatase which plays an essential role in the transduction of intracellular Ca2+-mediated signals (PubMed:15671020, PubMed:18838687, PubMed:19154138, PubMed:23468591). Many of the substrates contain a PxIxIT motif and/or a LxVP motif (PubMed:17498738, PubMed:17502104, PubMed:23468591, PubMed:27974827, PubMed:22343722). In response to increased Ca2+ levels, dephosphorylates and activates phosphatase SSH1 which results in cofilin dephosphorylation (PubMed:15671020). In response to increased Ca2+ levels following mitochondrial depolarization, dephosphorylates DNM1L inducing DNM1L translocation to the mitochondrion (PubMed:18838687). Dephosphorylates heat shock protein HSPB1 (). Dephosphorylates and activates transcription factor NFATC1 (PubMed:19154138). In response to increased Ca2+ levels, regulates NFAT-mediated transcription probably by dephosphorylating NFAT and promoting its nuclear translocation (PubMed:26248042). Dephosphorylates and inactivates transcription factor ELK1 (PubMed:19154138). Dephosphorylates DARPP32 (PubMed:19154138).

Product Notes

The PPP3CA ppp3ca (Catalog #AAA141208) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti Human Protein Phosphatase 3, Catalytic subunit, Alpha Isozyme reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. PPP3CA antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPP3CA ppp3ca for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein Phosphatase 3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
