Related Product Information for anti-ANGPTL3 antibody
Introduction: Angiopoietin-like proteins ANGPTL3 and ANGPTL4 are secreted proteins mainly expressed in liver that have been demonstrated to regulate triglyceride metabolism by inhibiting the lipolysis of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. ANGPTL3 is structurally similar to angiopoietins, which are vascular endothelial growth factors. The experimental results show that Angptl3 and Angptl4 function to regulate circulating triglyceride levels during different nutritional states and therefore play a role in lipid metabolism during feeding/fasting through differential inhibition of Lipoprotein lipase (LPL). Using deletion mutants of Angiopoietin 5 human, it was demonstrated that the N-terminal domain containing fragment - (17207) and not the C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain containing fragment - (207460) increased the plasma triglyceride levels in mice.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of secreted proteins that function in angiogenesis. The encoded protein, which is expressed predominantly in the liver, is further processed into an N-terminal coiled-coil domain-containing chain and a C-terminal fibrinogen chain. The N-terminal chain is important for lipid metablism, while the C-terminal chain may be involved in angiogenesis. Mutations in this gene cause familial hypobetalipoproteinemia type 2. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2013]

Uniprot Description

ANGPTL3: Defects in ANGPTL3 are the cause of familial hypobetalipoproteinemia type 2 (FHBL2); also called combined hypobetalipoproteinemia familial. FHBL2 is a disorder of lipid metabolism characterized by less than 5th percentile age- and sex-specific levels of low density lipoproteins, and dietary fat malabsorption. Affected individuals present with combined hypolipidemia, consisting of extremely low plasma levels of LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides.

Product Notes

The ANGPTL3 angptl3 (Catalog #AAA140164) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Angiopoietin Like Protein 3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). ANGPTL3 antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:500 ~ 2,000. Recommended starting dilution is 1:1,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ANGPTL3 angptl3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Angiopoietin Like Protein 3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
