CD83 cdna clone
CD83 cDNA Clone
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a single-pass type I membrane protein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of receptors. The encoded protein may be involved in the regulation of antigen presentation. A soluble form of this protein can bind to dendritic cells and inhibit their maturation. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Uniprot Description
CD83: May play a significant role in antigen presentation or the cellular interactions that follow lymphocyte activation.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p23
Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane
Biological Process: defense response; humoral immune response; regulation of cytokine production; signal transduction

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD83, cDNA Clone" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
