Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 12B (PPP1R12B) Recombinant Protein | PPP1R12B recombinant protein
Recombinant Human Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 12B (PPP1R12B) , partial
myosin binding subunit (MBS) and small subunit (sm-M20). This gene is a multi-functional gene which encodes both MBS and sm-M20. MLCP regulates myosins and the dephosphorylation is enhanced by the presence of MBS. The sm-M20 is suggested to play a regulatory role in muscle contraction by binding to MBS. There are two MBS subunits; myosin light chain phosphatase target subunit 1 (MYPT1)-MBS is encoded by another gene, and myosin light chain phosphatase target subunit 2 (MYPT2)-MBS is encoded by this gene. sm-M20 shows higher binding affinity to MYPT1-MBS than to MYPT2-MBS, even though the two MBS proteins are highly similar. Although both MBSs increase the activity of MLCP, MYPT1-MBS is a more efficient activator. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Myosin phosphatase is a protein complex comprised of three subunits: a catalytic subunit (PP1c-delta, protein phosphatase 1, catalytic subunit delta), a large regulatory subunit (MYPT, myosin phosphatase target) and small regulatory subunit (sm-M20). Two isoforms of MYPT have been isolated--MYPT1 and MYPT2, the first of which is widely expressed, and the second of which may be specific to heart, skeletal muscle, and brain. Each of the MYPT isoforms functions to bind PP1c-delta and increase phosphatase activity. This locus encodes both MYTP2 and M20. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. Related pseudogenes have been defined on the Y chromosome. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Uniprot Description
Regulates myosin phosphatase activity. Augments Ca2+ sensitivity of the contractile apparatus.

Product Notes
The PPP1R12B ppp1r12b (Catalog #AAA1135535) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 12B (PPP1R12B), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
