5-HT (Serotonin) 2C Antibody | anti-5HT2C R antibody
5-HT (Serotonin) 2C Receptor Antibody, Rabbit
The antibody produces 4+ (maximum) labeling of 5-HT2C receptor at dilutions of 1/300 - 1/500 using biotin-streptavidin/HRP technique in rat choroid plexus and hippocampus. Optimal dilution will vary depending upon fixation, labeling technique and/or detection system; therefore, a dilution series is recommended. The antibody was characterized by immunohistochemistry and Western blot. Western blotting revealed a single band of approximately 70 kD. Preincubation of the antibody with an excess of the synthetic peptide blocked staining. Immunohistochemical staining of rat brain correlates well with Northern analysis, in situ hybridization and receptor autoradiography. BlastP database sequence homology searches confirmed that this sequence is unique to rat, mouse and human 5-HT2C receptors.

Uniprot Description
5-HT(2C): a G-protein coupled receptor. One of several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. Mediates its action by activating a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.

The 5HT2C R htr2c (Catalog #AAA555177) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The 5-HT (Serotonin) 2C Receptor Antibody, Rabbit reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's 5-HT (Serotonin) 2C can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the 5HT2C R htr2c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "5-HT (Serotonin) 2C, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
