Related Product Information for MCSF active protein
Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF), also known as CSF-1, is asecreted cytokine which influences hematopoietic stem cells to differentiateinto macrophages or other related cell types. M-CSF (or CSF-1) is a hematopoieticgrowth factor that is involved in the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of monocytes, macrophages, and bone marrow progenitor cells. It can also affectsmacrophages and monocytes in several ways, including stimulating increasedphagocytic and chemotactic activity, and increased tumour cell cytotoxicity. Therole of M-CSF is not only restricted to the monocyte/macrophage cell lineage. By interacting with its membrane receptor (CSF-1R or M-CSF-R encoded by thec-fms proto-oncogene), M-CSF also modulates the proliferation of earlierhematopoietic progenitors and influence numerous physiological processesinvolved in immunology, metabolism, fertility and pregnancy. Besides, ColonyStimulating Factor Receptor, Macrophage (M-CSF-R) has been identified as aninteractor of M-CSF, thus a binding ELISA assay was conducted to detect theinteraction of recombinant mouse M-CSF and recombinant mouse M-CSF-R. Briefly, M-CSF were diluted serially in PBS, with 0.01% BSA (pH7.4). Duplicate samples of 100uL were then transferred to M-CSF-R coated microtiter wells and incubated for 2h at 37 degree C. Wells were washed with PBST and incubated for 1h with anti-M-CSF pAb, then aspirated and washed 3 times. After incubation with HRPlabelled secondary antibody, wells were aspirated and washed 3 times. With the addition of substrate solution, wells were incubated 15-25 minutes at 37 degree C. Finally, add 50uL stop solution to the wells and read at 450nm immediately. The binding activity of M-CSF and M-CSF-R was shown in Figure 1, and this effect was in adose dependent manner.

Uniprot Description

M-CSF: Cytokine that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. Promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines, and thereby plays an important role in innate immunity and in inflammatory processes. Plays an important role in the regulation of osteoclast proliferation and differentiation, the regulation of bone resorption, and is required for normal bone development. Required for normal male and female fertility. Promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates formation of membrane ruffles, cell adhesion and cell migration. Plays a role in lipoprotein clearance. Aberrant expression of CSF1 or CSF1R can promote cancer cell proliferation, invasion and formation of metastases. Overexpression of CSF1 or CSF1R is observed in a significant percentage of breast, ovarian, prostate, and endometrial cancers. Aberrant expression of CSF1 or CSF1R may play a role in inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis, atherosclerosis, and allograft rejection. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The MCSF csf1 (Catalog #AAA2125331) is an Active Protein produced from 293F Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Colony Stimulating Factor 1, Macrophage (MCSF) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Cell culture, Activity Assays. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MCSF csf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Lys33~Glu2 62. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Colony Stimulating Factor 1, Macrophage (MCSF), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
