Probable diguanylate cyclase YfiN (yfiN) Recombinant Protein | yfiN recombinant protein
Recombinant Escherichia coli Probable diguanylate cyclase YfiN (yfiN)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
YfiN has a C-terminal putative diguanylate cyclase GGDEF domain. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG12880]. YfiN is an inner membrane protein with two predicted transmembrane domains. [More information is available at EcoCyc: EG12880].
Uniprot Description
Function: Cyclic-di-GMP is a second messenger which controls cell surface-associated traits in bacteria. Ref.8
Catalytic activity: 2 GTP = 2 diphosphate + cyclic di-3',5'-guanylate.
Cofactor: Binds 1 Mg2+ per monomer
By similarity.
Pathway: Purine metabolism; 3',5'-cyclic di-GMP biosynthesis.
Subunit structure: Homodimer
By similarity.
Subcellular location: Cell inner membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Induction: Expressed at low levels at both 28 and 37 degrees Celsius during transition into stationary phase. Ref.7
Disruption phenotype: Disruption partially suppresses the reduced motility of a yhjH disruption; concomitant disruption of dosC, yegE, yedQ and yfiN completely restores motility, suggesting these 4 genes, together with the c-di-GMP phosphodiesterase YhjH, form a network that regulates cell motility by altering levels of c-di-GMP. Ref.8
Sequence similarities: Contains 1 GGDEF domain.Contains 1 HAMP domain.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Probable diguanylate cyclase YfiN (yfiN), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
