WDR44: a cytoskeletal WD40 repeat protein. A downstream effector of RAB11 that may be involved in vesicle recycling. Colocalizes with the GTP-bound form of RAB11 along microtubules oriented toward lamellipodia. WD40 repeats are found in a number of eukaryotic proteins that coordinate multi-protein complex assemblies. WD40 proteins are implicated in many functions including adaptor/regulatory modules in signal transduction, pre-mRNA processing and cytoskeleton assembly.
