NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
VTCN1: Negatively regulates T-cell-mediated immune response by inhibiting T-cell activation, proliferation, cytokine production and development of cytotoxicity. When expressed on the cell surface of tumor macrophages, plays an important role, together with regulatory T-cells (Treg), in the suppression of tumor- associated antigen-specific T-cell immunity. Involved in promoting epithelial cell transformation. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. BTN/MOG family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3|3 F2.2
Cellular Component: external side of plasma membrane
Molecular Function: receptor binding
Biological Process: negative regulation of T cell activation; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; response to protozoan

Product Notes
The B7-H4 / B7S1 / B7x vtcn1 (Catalog #AAA2547210) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The secreted recombinant mouse B7H4/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 469 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 52.2 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of rmB7H4/Fc monomer is approximately 70-75 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the B7-H4 / B7S1 / B7x vtcn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "B7-H4 / B7S1 / B7x, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
