Varicella Zoster Virus ORF9 Recombinant Protein | VZV ORF9 recombinant protein
Varicella Zoster Virus ORF9 Recombinant
Recombinant VZV ORF9 contains an N terminal GST purification tag and migrates as an approximately 31 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.
Upon reconstitution, this protein can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: Tegument protein that may play a role in the nucleocapsid secondary envelopment at the trans-Golgi network during virus morphogenesis
Potential.
Subunit structure: Interacts with gE (via C-terminus); this interaction is necessary for the recruitment of VP22 to the Golgi and its packaging into virions. Interacts with VP16
By similarity. Ref.3
Subcellular location: Virion tegument
By similarity. Host cytoplasm
By similarity. Host nucleus
By similarity. Host Golgi apparatus
By similarity. Note: One of the most abundant tegument protein. During virion morphogenesis, this protein probably accumulates at the trans-Golgi where secondary envelopment occurs
By similarity. Ref.3
Post-translational modification: Highly phosphorylated in the host cell. Packaging is selective for underphosphorylated forms
By similarity.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the alphaherpesvirinae VP22 tegument protein family.

Product Notes
The VZV ORF9 (Catalog #AAA553166) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. VZV ORF9 antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of VZV with minimal specificity problems. . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VZV ORF9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Varicella Zoster Virus ORF9, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
