Related Product Information for UFL1 (HGNC:23039) blocking peptide
E3 protein ligase that mediates ufmylation, the covalent attachment of the ubiquitin-like modifier UFM1 to substrate proteins, a post-translational modification on lysine residues of proteins that may play a crucial role in a number of cellular processes. Mediates DDRGK1 ufmylation and may regulate the proteasomal degradation of DDRGK1 and CDK5RAP3 thereby modulating NF-kappa-B signaling (PubMed:20018847, PubMed:20164180, PubMed:20228063, PubMed:25219498). May also through TRIP4 ufmylation play a role in nuclear receptors-mediated transcription (PubMed:25219498).

Uniprot Description

UFL1: E3 UFM1-protein ligase that mediates ufmylation of target proteins such as DDRGK1/C20orf116. The function of ufmylation is unknown. May act as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting cell invasion, blocking NF-kappa-B signaling and increasing stability of CDK5RAP3. Belongs to the UFL1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ligase; Tumor suppressor; EC 6.3.2.-

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q16.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; endoplasmic reticulum; endoplasmic reticulum membrane; membrane; nucleus; protein complex

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: inhibition of NF-kappaB transcription factor; negative regulation of protein ubiquitination; osteoblast differentiation; positive regulation of cell proliferation; regulation of estrogen receptor signaling pathway; regulation of proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; regulation of protein localization

Product Notes

The UFL1 (HGNC:23039) ufl1 (Catalog #AAA9228338) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "K0776, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
