Related Product Information for UBE2H recombinant protein
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 H is produced by our E Coli expression system and the target gene encoding Met1-Leu183 is expressed with a GST tag at the N-terminus.

Background: Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 H (UBE2H) belongs to the E2 Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme family. The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. It has been shown to conjugate ubiquitin to histone H2A in an E3 dependent manner in vitro. UBE2H is the human homolog to the yeast DNA repair gene RAD6, which is induced by DNA damaging reagents. UBE2H has been associated with cancer-induced cachexia and with the regulation of sepsis-induced muscle proteolysis.

NCBI Description

The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. This gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. The encoded protein sequence is 100% identical to the mouse homolog and 98% identical to the frog and zebrafish homologs. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene and they encode distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]

Uniprot Description

Accepts ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to other proteins (PubMed:8132613, PubMed:17588522, PubMed:20061386). E2 ubiquitin conjugating enzyme that transfers ubiquitin to MAEA, a core component of the CTLH E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex (PubMed:29911972). In vitro catalyzes 'Lys-11'- and 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitination (PubMed:20061386). Capable, in vitro, to ubiquitinate histone H2A (PubMed:8132613).

Product Notes

The UBE2H ube2h (Catalog #AAA2556621) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 H, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
