TRIM37 Blocking Peptide | TRIM37 (HGNC:7523) blocking peptide

TRIM37 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
TRIM37; MUL; POB1; TEF3
Synonyms
TRIM37; TRIM37 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide; E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRIM37; 632-; Mulibrey nanism protein; Tripartite motif-containing protein 37; KIAA0898; MUL; POB1; TRIM37 (HGNC:7523) blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of TRIM37. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
964
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Peroxisome. Note: Found in vesicles of the peroxisome. Aggregates as aggresomes, a perinuclear region where certain misfolded or aggregated proteins are sequestered for proteasomal degradation.
Tissue Location
Ubiquitous (PubMed:10888877). Highly expressed in testis, while it is weakly expressed in other tissues (PubMed:16310976).
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for TRIM37 (HGNC:7523) blocking peptide
E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase required to prevent centriole reduplication (PubMed:15885686, PubMed:23769972). Probably acts by ubiquitinating positive regulators of centriole reduplication (PubMed:23769972). Mediates monoubiquitination of 'Lys-119' of histone H2A (H2AK119Ub), a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional repression: associates with some Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC2-like complex and mediates repression of target genes (PubMed:25470042). Has anti-HIV activity (PubMed:24317724).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family, whose members are involved in diverse cellular functions such as developmental patterning and oncogenesis. The TRIM motif includes zinc-binding domains, a RING finger region, a B-box motif and a coiled-coil domain. The RING finger and B-box domains chelate zinc and might be involved in protein-protein and/or protein-nucleic acid interactions. The gene mutations are associated with mulibrey (muscle-liver-brain-eye) nanism, an autosomal recessive disorder that involves several tissues of mesodermal origin. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]

Uniprot Description

TRIM37: E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Defects in TRIM37 are the cause of mulibrey nanism (MUL); also known as muscle-liver-brain-eye nanism. MUL is an autosomal recessive disorder that involves several tissues of mesodermal origin, implying a defect in a highly pleiotropic gene. Characteristic features include severe growth failure of prenatal onset and constrictive pericardium with consequent hepatomegaly. In addition, muscle hypotonia, J-shaped sella turcica, yellowish dots in the ocular fundi, typical dysmorphic features and hypoplasia of various endocrine glands causing hormonal deficiency are common. Belongs to the TRIM/RBCC family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ligase; Ubiquitin ligase; EC 6.3.2.-; Oncoprotein; Ubiquitin conjugating system

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q23.2

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; ESC/E(Z) complex; peroxisome

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; tumor necrosis factor receptor binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding; ubiquitin-protein ligase activity

Biological Process: activation of NF-kappaB transcription factor; inhibition of NF-kappaB transcription factor; negative regulation of centriole replication; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of transcription factor activity; protein autoubiquitination

Disease: Mulibrey Nanism

Product Notes

The TRIM37 (HGNC:7523) trim37 (Catalog #AAA9219808) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRIM37, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
