INTENDED USE This TLS ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rat TLS. This ELISA kit for research use only!

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY TLS ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-TLS antibody and an TLS-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with TLS-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the TLS concentration since TLS from samples and TLS-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-TLS antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by TLS from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind TLS-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The TLS concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a multifunctional protein component of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) complex. The hnRNP complex is involved in pre-mRNA splicing and the export of fully processed mRNA to the cytoplasm. This protein belongs to the FET family of RNA-binding proteins which have been implicated in cellular processes that include regulation of gene expression, maintenance of genomic integrity and mRNA/microRNA processing. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Defects in this gene result in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 6. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

hnRNP P2: Binds both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA and promotes ATP-independent annealing of complementary single- stranded DNAs and D-loop formation in superhelical double-stranded DNA. May play a role in maintenance of genomic integrity. Component of nuclear riboprotein complexes. Interacts with ILF3, TDRD3 and SF1. Interacts through its C-terminus with SFRS13A. Interacts with OTUB1 and SARNP. Ubiquitous. Belongs to the RRM TET family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Rat TLS fus (Catalog #AAA729871) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA729871 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat TLS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "T lymphocyte subpopulation CD3/4/8, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
