Related Product Information for TIMP-1 recombinant protein
TIMP-1, also known as metalloproteinase inhibitor 1, is a member of the TIMP family. Tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMP) family are natural inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), the zinc enzymes involved in extracellular matrix maintenance and remodeling. In addition to its inhibitory role against most of the known MMPs, the encoded protein is able to promote cell proliferation in a wide range of cell types, and may also have an anti-apoptotic function. It has been identified as a multifunctional molecule with divergent functions. Recombinant Mouse TIMP-1, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Uniprot Description

TIMP1: Complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Also mediates erythropoiesis in vitro; but, unlike IL-3, it is species-specific, stimulating the growth and differentiation of only human and murine erythroid progenitors. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-10, MMP-11, MMP-12, MMP-13 and MMP-16. Does not act on MMP-14. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Cellular Component: basement membrane; extracellular matrix; extracellular space; proteinaceous extracellular matrix

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; metalloendopeptidase inhibitor activity; protease binding

Biological Process: cell activation; negative regulation of apoptosis; negative regulation of catalytic activity; negative regulation of membrane protein ectodomain proteolysis; positive regulation of cell proliferation; response to cytokine stimulus; response to hormone stimulus

Product Notes

The TIMP-1 timp1 (Catalog #AAA201353) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 25-205aa. AAA Biotech's TIMP-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TIMP-1 timp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: CSCAPPHPQT AFCNSDLVIR AKFMGSPEIN ETTLYQRYKI KMTKMLKGFK AVGNAADIRY AYTPVMESLC GYAHKSQNRS EEFLITGRLR NGNLHISACS FLVPWRTLSP AQQRAFSKTY SAGCGVCTVF PCLSIPCKLE SDTHCLWTDQ VLVGSEDYQS RHFACLPRNP GLCTWRSLGA R. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIMP-1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
