Related Product Information for TGFBR1 recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant mouse TGFBR1 (ALK5) (148-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Scientific Background: TGFBR1 or transforming growth factor, beta-receptor 1 is a member of the TGFbeta receptor subfamily and is a ser/thr protein kinase that forms a heteromeric complex with type II TGF-beta receptors when bound to TGF-beta, transducing the TGF-beta signal from the cell surface to the cytoplasm. Mutations in TGFBR1gene have been associated with Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Deitz Aortic Aneurysm Syndrome, and the development of various types of tumors (1). TGFBR1-dependent signaling is required for angiogenesis but not for the development of hematopoietic progenitor cells and functional hematopoiesis (2).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) receptor family of proteins. These proteins comprise one component of the TGF-beta signaling pathway, which transduces extracellular signals into gene expression changes to regulate a wide range of cellular responses, including proliferation, migration, differentiation and apoptosis. Homozygous knockout mice for this gene exhibit impaired angiogenesis and embryonic lethality. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The TGFBR1 tgfbr1 (Catalog #AAA515694) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 148-end. AAA Biotech's TGFBR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Kinase Assay, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TGFBR1 tgfbr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TGFBR1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
