Mouse TGF-beta 3 PicoKine ELISA Kit
Background: Transforming growth factor beta 3 (TGF-beta 3) is a type of protein, known as a cytokine, which is involved in cell differentiation, embryogenesis and development. It belongs to a large family of cytokines called the Transforming growth factor beta superfamily. TGF-beta 3 is believed to regulate molecules involved in cellular adhesion and extracellular matrix (ECM) formation during the process of palate development. Without TGF-beta 3, mammals develop a deformity known as acleft palate. This is caused by failure of epithelial cells in both sides of the developing palate to fuse. TGF-beta 3 also plays an essential role in controlling the development of lungs in mammals, by also regulating cell adhesion and ECM formation in this tissue, and controls wound healing by regulating the movements of epidermal and dermal cells in injured skin. TGF-beta 3 activated Lef1 in the absence of beta-catenin (CTNNB1) via nuclear phospho-Smad2 and Smad4.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the transforming growth factor (TGF) beta superfamily of cell regulatory proteins that control adhesion, proliferation, differentiation and transformation of many cell types. The encoded protein likely undergoes proteolytic cleavage similar to the human ortholog to generate an active peptide from the C-terminal region (TGF-beta 3), which is rendered inactive by its non-covalent association with the N-terminal peptide called the "Latency-associated peptide." Mice lacking the encoded protein die shortly after birth, and display abnormal pulmonary development and defective palatogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]

Product Notes
The Mouse TGFB3 tgfb3 (Catalog #AAA177304) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA177304 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse TGFB3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TGF-beta 3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
