ITGA6 sirna
ITGA6 siRNA (Mouse)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the integrin superfamily. Integrins are transmembrane receptors involved cell adhesion and signaling, and they are subdivided based on the heterodimer formation of alpha and beta chains. This protein has been shown to heterodimerize with beta 4 to bind laminin and to form the main component of hemidesmosomes, which mediate attachment of epithelia to basement membranes. In mouse, deficiency of this gene is associated with absence of hemidesmosomes, severe skin blistering, and early post-natal death. In humans mutations of this gene are associated with epidermolysis bullosa. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms. Uniprot Description
ITGA6: Integrin alpha-6/beta-1 is a receptor for laminin on platelets. Integrin alpha-6/beta-4 is a receptor for laminin in epithelial cells and it plays a critical structural role in the hemidesmosome. Heterodimer of an alpha and a beta subunit. The alpha subunit is composed of an heavy and a light chain linked by a disulfide bond. Alpha-6 associates with either beta-1 or beta-4. Interacts with HPS5. Interacts with RAB21. Integrin alpha-6/beta-4 is predominantly expressed by epithelia. Isoforms containing segment X1 are ubiquitously expressed. Isoforms containing segment X1X2 are expressed in heart, kidney, placenta, colon, duodenum, myoblasts and myotubes, and in a limited number of cell lines; they are always coexpressed with the ubiquitous isoform containing segment X1. In some tissues (e.g. Salivary gland), isoforms containing cytoplasmic segment A and isoforms containing segment B are detected while in others, only isoforms containing one cytoplasmic segment are found (segment A in epidermis and segment B in kidney). Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The ITGA6 itga6 (Catalog #AAA8231987) is a siRNA produced from Synthetic and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ITGA6 siRNA (Mouse) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ITGA6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, RNA Interference (RNAi). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGA6 itga6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ITGA6, siRNA" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
