The encoded protein is a ligand inducible transcription factor that is involved in the regulation of many different genes. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Interacts with NCOA1, NCOA2, NCOA3 and PPARGC1A. Interacts with ZFPM2. Ubiquitous. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR2 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
