Mouse Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription 6 ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: STAT6 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-STAT6 antibody and an STAT6-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with STAT6-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the STAT6 concentration since STAT6 from samples and STAT6-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-STAT6 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by STAT6 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind STAT6-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The STAT6 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein plays a central role in exerting IL4 mediated biological responses. It is found to induce the expression of BCL2L1/BCL-X(L), which is responsible for the anti-apoptotic activity of IL4. Knockout studies in mice suggested the roles of this gene in differentiation of T helper 2 (Th2) cells, expression of cell surface markers, and class switch of immunoglobulins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Uniprot Description
STAT6: transcription factor of the STAT family. Plays a central role in IL4-mediated biological responses. Induces the expression of BCL2L1/BCL-X(L), which is responsible for the anti-apoptotic activity of IL4. May function in the differentiation of T helper 2 cells and class switch of immunoglobulins. Forms homo- or heterodimers that translocate into the nucleus where they regulate transcription.

The Mouse STAT6 stat6 (Catalog #AAA725637) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA725637 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse STAT6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription 6, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
