Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-STAB1 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-STAB1 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the STAB1 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of STAB1 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a large, transmembrane receptor protein which may function in angiogenesis, lymphocyte homing, cell adhesion, or receptor scavenging. The protein contains 7 fasciclin, 16 epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like, and 2 laminin-type EGF-like domains as well as a C-type lectin-like hyaluronan-binding Link module. The protein is primarily expressed on sinusoidal endothelial cells of liver, spleen, and lymph node. The receptor has been shown to endocytose ligands such as low density lipoprotein, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and advanced glycosylation end products. Supporting its possible role as a scavenger receptor, the protein rapidly cycles between the plasma membrane and early endosomes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Involved in the delivery of newly synthesized CHID1/SI-CLP from the biosynthetic compartment to the endosomal/lysosomal system. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
