Related Product Information for SNCB recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant Human b-Synuclein produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain (1-134 a.a) having a molecular mass of 14.2kDa (molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear higher). SNCB is extremely heatresistant and has a chaperone-like activity.

Introduction: b-synuclein (amino acids 1-134), an acidic neuronal protein of 134 amino acids, is extremely heat-resistant. b-synucelin also has a chaperone-like activity. Recently, b-synuclein has been suggested to inhibit a-synuclein aggregation. b and a-synuclein are abundantly expressed in the brain and putatively inhibit phospholipase D2 selectively. The encoded protein, which may play a role in neuronal plasticity, is abundant in neurofibrillary lesions of patients with Alzheimer disease.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is highly homologous to alpha-synuclein. These proteins are abundantly expressed in the brain and putatively inhibit phospholipase D2 selectively. The encoded protein, which may play a role in neuronal plasticity, is abundant in neurofibrillary lesions of patients with Alzheimer disease. This protein has been shown to be highly expressed in the substantia nigra of the brain, a region of neuronal degeneration in patients with Parkinson disease; however, no direct relation to Parkinson disease has been established. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SNCB: a member of the synuclein family. Abundantly expressed in the brain. Inhibits phospholipase D2 selectively. May play a role in neuronal plasticity, is abundant in neurofibrillary lesions of Alzheimer's patients. Highly expressed in the substantia nigra of the brain, a region of neuronal degeneration in patients with Parkinson disease.

Product Notes

The SNCB sncb (Catalog #AAA142949) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MDVFMKGLSM AKEGVVAAAE KTKQGVTEAA EKTKEGVLYV GSKTREGVVQ GVASVAEKTK EQASHLGGAV FSGAGNIAAA TGLVKREEFP TDLKPEEVAQ EAAEEPLIEP LMEPEGESYE DPPQEEYQEY EPEA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Beta-Synuclein, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
