Related Product Information for SMPDL3A recombinant protein
Background: SMPDL3A gene is a novel liver X receptor (LXR) -regulated gene, with an LXR response element within its promoter. The induction of SMPDL3A is LXR-dependent and is restricted to human blood cells with no induction observed in mouse cellular systems. LXR alpha and LXRbeta function as physiological sensors of cholesterol metabolites (oxysterols), regulating key genes involved in cholesterol and lipid metabolism. LXRs have been extensively studied in both human and rodent cell systems, revealing their potential therapeutic value in the contexts of atherosclerosis and inflammatory diseases. The LXR genome landscape has been investigated in murine macrophages but not in human THP-1 cells, which represent one of the frequently used monocyte/macrophage cell systems to study immune responses.

Description: A DNA sequence encoding the human SMPDL3A (Q92484) (Met1-Tyr453) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

Product Notes

The SMPDL3A smpdl3a (Catalog #AAA2545282) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant human SMPDL3A consists of 442 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 50.3 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 51 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SMPDL3A smpdl3a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SMPDL3A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
