Related Product Information for CD105, sf9 active protein
CD105 (26-176 a.a.) or Endoglin or GP160 is a Type I transmembrane protein, which is highly expressed on human vascular endothelial cells, activated macrophages, fibroblasts, and smooth muscle cells. It exists as an O- and N-glycosylated homodimer of 180kD. Up-regulation of endoglin expression has been demonstrated in tumor vasculature and proliferating cells, suggesting that it is a proliferation-associated endothelial cell marker. Endoglin has been found to be part of the TGF-beta1 receptor complex. It thus may be involved in the binding of TGF-beta1, TGF beta3, activin-A, BMP-2, and BMP-7. CD105 binds to TGF Beta1 and Beta3 with high affinity but not TGF-Beta2Beside TGF-beta signaling endoglin may have other functions. It has been postulated that endoglin is involved in the cytoskeletal organization affecting cell morphology and migration. Endoglin has a role in the development of the cardiovascular system and in vascular remodeling. Its expression is regulated during heart development. Experimental mice without the endoglin gene die due to cardiovascular abnormalities.

CD105 Human Recombinant extracellular domain produced in baculovirus is a homodimeric, glycosylated, polypeptide containing 586 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 61kD but as a result of glycosylation, migrates at 90kD under reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Product Notes

The CD105, sf9 (Catalog #AAA635662) is an Active Protein produced from Sf9 Insect Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. Suitable for use in ELISA, Inhibition Assays and Western Blot. Other applicatios not tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD105, sf9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD105, sf9, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
