Protein Type
Recombinant
Biological Significance
Alpha-1-antichymotrypsin is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. Polymorphisms in this protein appear to be tissue specific and influence protease targeting. Variations in this protein's sequence have been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, and deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. Mutations have been identified in patients with Parkinson disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Recombinant alpha-1-antichymotrypsin protein was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Expression System
E Coli
Tag/Conjugate
His tag
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage (1/2 weeks). Aliquot and store at -20 degree C or - 70 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SERPINA3: Although its physiological function is unclear, it can inhibit neutrophil cathepsin G and mast cell chymase, both of which can convert angiotensin-1 to the active angiotensin-2. Belongs to the serpin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The SERPINA3 serpina3 (Catalog #AAA836684) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Alpha 1 Antichymotrypsin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SERPINA3 serpina3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: 24-423 amino acids: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MHPNSPLDEE NLTQENQDRG THVDLGLASA NVDFAFSLYK QLVLKAPDKN VIFSPLSIST ALAFLSLGAH NTTLTEILKG LKFNLTETSE AEIHQSFQHL LRTLNQSSDE LQLSMGNAMF VKEQLSLLDR FTEDAKRLYG SEAFATDFQD SAAAKKLIND YVKNGTRGKI TDLIKDLDSQ TMMVLVNYIF FKAKWEMPFD PQDTHQSRFY LSKKKWVMVP MMSLHHLTIP YFRDEELSCT VVELKYTGNA SALFILPDQD KMEEVEAMLL PETLKRWRDS LEFREIGELY LPKFSISRDY NLNDILLQLG IEEAFTSKAD LSGITGARNL AVSQVVHKAV LDVFEEGTEA SAATAVKITL LSALVETRTI VRFNRPFLMI IVPTDTQNIF FMSKVTNPKQ A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha 1 Antichymotrypsin, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
