Related Product Information for SEMG1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only! It is intended to be determinated SEMG1 concentrations in Camel serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Camel SEMG1 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add SEMG1 and SEMG1 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of SEMG1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is the predominant protein in semen. The encoded secreted protein is involved in the formation of a gel matrix that encases ejaculated spermatozoa. The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) protease processes this protein into smaller peptides, with each possibly having a separate function. The proteolysis process breaks down the gel matrix and allows the spermatozoa to move more freely. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]

Uniprot Description

SEMG1: Predominant protein in semen. It participates in the formation of a gel matrix entrapping the accessory gland secretions and ejaculated spermatozoa. Fragments of semenogelin and/or fragments of the related proteins may contribute to the activation of progressive sperm movements as the gel-forming proteins are fragmented by KLK3/PSA. Belongs to the semenogelin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Camel SEMG1 semg1 (Catalog #AAA047619) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA047619 ELISA Kit recognizes Camel SEMG1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Semenogelin I, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
