(ICT's Caspase 8 FLICA kit was used todetect apoptosis in U937 cells, ahistiocytic lymphoma cell line. Cells weretreated with a control, 50 ng/mL TNF, or50 ug/mL cycloheximide (CHX) for 24hours. Cells were then incubated withFAM-LETD-FMK for 1 hour, washed 4times, then analyzed on a flowcytometer. FLICA revealed that 41.9%of cells treated with CHX had caspase 8 activity, compared with 19.1% of cellstreated with TNF, and only 1.9% of the control cells (Ms. Jennifer Mitchell,Scripps).)
