Related Product Information for ROMO1 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- ROMO1 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti- ROMO1 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRPStreptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the ROMO1 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of ROMO1 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a mitochondrial membrane protein that is responsible for increasing the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells. The protein also has antimicrobial activity against a variety of bacteria by inducing bacterial membrane breakage. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

Uniprot Description

ROMO1: Induces production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) which are necessary for cell proliferation. May play a role in inducing oxidative DNA damage and replicative senescence. May play a role in the coordination of mitochondrial morphology and cell proliferation. Belongs to the MGR2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Mitochondrial; Cell cycle regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.22

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrion

Biological Process: defense response to bacterium; positive regulation of cell proliferation; replicative cell aging

Product Notes

The Human ROMO1 romo1 (Catalog #AAA764414) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA764414 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ROMO1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Reactive oxygen species modulator 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
