Related Product Information for RGS1 recombinant protein
RGS1 is a member of the regulator of G-protein signalling family. This protein is located on the cytosolic side of the plasma membrane and contains a conserved, 120 amino acid motif called the RGS domain. The protein attenuates the signalling activity of G-proteins by binding to activated, GTP-bound G alpha subunits and acting as a GTPase activating protein (GAP), increasing the rate of conversion of the GTP to GDP. This hydrolysis allows the G alpha subunits to bind G beta/gamma subunit heterodimers, forming inactive G-protein heterotrimers, thereby terminating the signal. Recombinant human RGS1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the regulator of G-protein signalling family. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Regulates G protein-coupled receptor signaling cascades, including signaling downstream of the N-formylpeptide chemoattractant receptors and leukotriene receptors (PubMed:10480894). Inhibits B cell chemotaxis toward CXCL12 (). Inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form (PubMed:10480894, PubMed:18434541).

Product Notes

The RGS1 rgs1 (Catalog #AAA204236) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's RGS1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RGS1 rgs1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMRAAAI STPKLDKMPG MFFSANPKEL KGTTHSLLDD KMQKRRPKTF GMDMKAYLRS MIPHLESGMK SSKSKDVLSA AEVMQWSQSL EKLLANQTGQ NVFGSFLKSE FSEENIEFWL ACEDYKKTES DLLPCKAEEI YKAFVHSDAA KQINIDFRTR ESTAKKIKAP TPTCFDEAQK VIYTLMEKDS YPRFLKSDIY LNLLNDLQAN SLK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RGS1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
