Related Product Information for RBP5 recombinant protein
RBP5 belongs to the Retinol-binding proteins family. Assessment of retinol-binding protein is used to determine visceral protein mass in nutritional studies related to health. RBP5 is higher expression in adult kidney and liver and to a lesser extent in adult and fetal spleen, adult lymph nodes and appendix, and fetal liver and kidney. It is strongly decreased in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues. Recombinant human RBP5 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cellular retinol-binding protein expressed highly in kidney and liver. Down-regulation of the encoded protein in hepatocellular carcinoma was associated with large tumor size and poor patient survival rates. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]

Uniprot Description

Intracellular transport of retinol.

Product Notes

The RBP5 rbp5 (Catalog #AAA203403) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's RBP5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RBP5 rbp5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MPPNLTGYYR FVSQKNMEDY LQALNISLAV RKIALLLKPD KEIEHQGNHM TVRTLSTFRN YTVQFDVGVE FEEDLRSVDG RKCQTIVTWE EEHLVCVQKG EVPNRGWRHW LEGEMLYLEL TARDAVCEQV FRKVR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RBP5, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
