Related Product Information for SLC39A14 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Rat Zinc Transporter ZIP10 (also known as SLC39A10) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Rat SLC39A10 antibody. SLC39A10 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat SLC39A10 Antibody is added and binds to SLC39A10 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SLC39A10 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat SLC39A10. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the the SLC39A family of divalent metal transporters that mediates the cellular uptake of manganese, zinc, iron, and cadmium. The encoded protein contains eight transmembrane domains, a histidine-rich motif, and a metalloprotease motif, and is expressed on the plasma membrane and the endocytic vesicle membrane. It is an important transporter of nontransferrin-bound iron and a critical regulator of manganese homeostasis. Naturally occurring mutations in this gene are associated with neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation and early-onset parkinsonism-dystonia with hypermanganesemia. Uniprot Description

SLC39A14: May mediate cellular uptake of nontransferrin-bound iron. Broad-scope metal ion transporter with a preference for zinc uptake. Belongs to the ZIP transporter (TC 2.A.5) family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Rat SLC39A14 slc39a14 (Catalog #AAA1603439) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1603439 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat SLC39A14. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Zinc Transporter ZIP14, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
