Related Product Information for VIP elisa kit
Intended Uses: The kit is a competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique for the in vitro quantitative measurement of VIP in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to VIP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled VIP and unlabeled VIP (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to VIP. After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of VIP in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of VIP in the sample.

NCBI Description

peptide that causes vasodilation [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

VIP causes vasodilation, lowers arterial blood pressure, stimulates myocardial contractility, increases glycogenolysis and relaxes the smooth muscle of trachea, stomach and gall bladder.PHM-27 is a potent agonist of the calcitonin receptor CALCR, with similar efficacy as calcitonin (). PHI also causes vasodilation.

Product Notes

The Rat VIP vip (Catalog #AAA452263) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA452263 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat VIP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
